1973

At Grandma & Grandpa King's house in
Moore ID

I belong to a group called "Mormonetts". We put on sacrament meetings wherever invited, giving talks and singing.  It's such a wonderful group and wards love to invite us to come.  I love singing with in this group and it has helped me be a little braver in giving talks.

I told a Dr. Seuss story
"And to Think that I Saw it on Mulberry Street"
This was for a HS competition.  I memorized the story and painted scenes from it on two refrigerator boxes.  A person (Paula was inside one and I forgot who was in the other) inside each box rotated to come together to form a scene as I told the story.  It took a lot of work and practice and turned out really cute. I wish I had pictures of the scenes I painted.

Here's a few pages from my High School scrapbook:

College begins!
I was so excited to go to Rick's College. Henry B. Eyring was president of the school and I stood through a long line of new students to meet him and shake his hand.  As I looked up at him and took his hand I felt something unexplainable and powerful go through me and the spirit witnessed to me that I was shaking the hand of a mighty man of God.  (I was not the least surprised when in 1985 he was called to be an a general authority and then an apostle in 1995!)
