1998 Florida trip

 Sanibel Island

Andrew in the grapefruit tree

Twins 7th birthday
Sanibel Island

At dusk the twins and I played on the beach while the others went body surfing.  The crest of the waves kept capturing the moonlight and it made them glow really beautifully.  I'm afraid we got bitten by sand flees or something like that. I had some lavender spray that helped a little but those bites lasted about 2 weeks.

We slept deeply with windows open hearing the waves and singing birds with the dawn. Ahhhh

Fort Meyer
Under the banyan tree
We went to church in Fort Meyer and then enjoyed a nice tour of the Thomas Edison home.  Em is doing a report on him.

Key Largo

Andrea and Andrew and I went on this glass bottom boat
while the others went snorkeling.  We saw beautiful fish
and had a really great time.

Key West

Sadly Shar had to leave early.  Aaron rode with Chris to take her to the airport because she's in the orchestra for Fiddler on the Roof and also needed to be back for honor band.  I stayed with the others.  Andrea had been throwing up with sickness in the night.  Aaron got sick in the car to airport and his illness lasted two days.  It seemed like food poisoning from the last restaurant we ate at. He was really sick and I felt so sad for him.

Epcot Center
Can you find the boys?
We were so happy that Aaron was feeling a bit better today!  We enjoyed Epcot. The kids favorite was a 3D movie "Honey I shrunk the Audience".

We got one more boogie board beach time before heading to the airport for home.
We made it to the airport to turn in the car only to discover we were in the wrong airport!! We were in Ft Lauderdale airport and needed to be in Miami.   It was a stressful rush rush to correct this mistake. We were exhausted when we got to our gate and found the flight was delayed 2.5 hours.  We would miss our connection in Chicago.  Ah the life of travel.

We made it home to Sequim at 3:30am.  All in all despite the troubles it was such a great trip and so good to spend uninterrupted time together just focused on each other with no meetings, phone calls, project due etc.
