Feb 6, 1978!  How blessed we feel to have our new little daughter finally here! What can one say about such an event?  She's adorable and we feel so blessed.
I was so grateful that Mom could come and help even though she was so very busy preparing for Paula & Rock's wedding this month, (on the 17th).

March 16th
Today I took Jenny to her 6 week check up.  Dr. Clayton said she is doing great and she has perfect feet and beautiful posture for a baby. :)

Chris got a job last month as a student defender for the BYU judicial system. He is  now head of office personnel

Jennifer is such fun.  She smiles all the time and goo's at us so cute.  She seems to be sleeping through the night now.

Chris has been offered a job with EG&G this summer and permanent work after he graduates!

Back to Rexburg
Chris got called to be Assistant Scout Master.

May 5:  I was saying "Jenny, Jenny, Jenny, Jenny, Jenny" really fast and in funny voices and Jennifer laughed for the first time!

I had a new hair cut and perm.
Chris wasn't liking it...was trying to
get used to it.

Journal Entry:
June 7
Today I got my hair cut and permed.  Oh I was so nervous!  When I made the appointment I was thinking my hair had been this way for so long and I needed to do it different just for fun.  But then I thought - oh my hair’s been this way so long I’m too scared to change it.  Oh I hope Chris likes it.  So as soon as Chris got home Tami said to him “Just remember, it will grow.”  Chris replied “What did she do, buy a plant?”  Then I walked in and he said “Well hello!”  I asked him if he liked it and he told me to ask him again in a couple days when he’s used to it.  (I'm pretty sure he didn't like it because even after a few weeks he pointed out women with long straight hair that he thought was so pretty.)

June 29:  At Jennifer's check-up and vaccination the nurse was shocked at Jennifer's ability to roll over and sit up by herself and crawl.  She told us that she is a good 2-3 months ahead of herself.

July 20: Jenny sleeps in a little bed right next to ours. When she woke up this morning she put her feet on the side and stood up grabbing our bed! She's only 5 months old!

Aug 8:  Jennifer sure gets around now!  She crawls all over the house and pulls drawers open and rips up things.  She jabbers so cute and has two bottom teeth.

Sept 19
Jennifer loves emptying our drawers.
This is the sink I had my blanched carrots in.
We came home from Rexburg with yummy veggies from the garden so today I blanched carrots and chard so that I can freeze them.  The neighbors sink upstairs drains into our sink below, even when the drain is plugged. I even hold the drain down to prevent it but it still bubbles their soapy water through.  It just so happened that it came bubbling through while my blanched carrots were cooling in cold water in the sink! Oh well, I just washed them all off again and later took it all over to the food locker that we rent in town. (A freezer)

There are such fun things to look forward to in the future!  Like a washer, dryer and a close line that we don't share with 4 families, our own mailbox (we also share that with several families), a bathtub, a sink that doesn't fill with neighbors dirty dishwater and a bathroom window that doesn't leak down the wall every time it rains.  But I'm happy that our rent is only $85 per month.

Provo offers inexpensive community night classes.  It's fun to get away for an hour or so and be creative.  I've taken beginning guitar, tole painting and a fun glass painting.

The owls I did in class and the rest I've
done over the years on my own.
Five of these are layered glass

My arms have always seemed to feel a little empty before Jennifer came.  When I'd go somewhere I was more comfortable holding a book or purse or just something and now I can hold Jennifer. (although at times it does feel good to rest one's arms.)  It's funny, whenever I go to the store now and leave her with Chris, every time I get out of the car I keep feeling like I'm forgetting something.

Oct 3
I gave the FHE lesson and made trifle for dessert in the cute cups I got from the bowling ally garbage. :D  I didn't buy a pound cake mix - too expensive and it takes 7 eggs to make one so I sweetened pancakes with vanilla and used that.  Next layer - fruit cocktail (I wanted to use strawberries but they were too expensive) then strawberry jello, then vanilla pudding then green whipped cream and a cherry on top.  It was yummy and so pretty.

Jennifer pulled the nipple right out of her bottle with her teeth and poured the milk all down herself!  She chewed a hole in the arm of the chair and chewed up the cover of a magazine.  She loves to pull the diapers out of the diaper pail and spread them out all over the floor or stuff them in the toilet.  I don't like to say this but she even sucks on them.  Oh I do have to keep an eye on her always!  She's learned that to get something off the table all she has to do is pull on the tablecloth.
